Priestess Caileah Herne founded Circle of the Moon in Arizona in the earlier 2000s. She wanted a open learning environment where all were welcome. She taught many different classes through her store Ceremony Metaphysical Supply in Glendale, Arizona and hosted large open Sabbats. Upon her retirement in 2007, Caria Dawn became the high priestess (HPS). The coven closed to open rituals and eventually changed names to Desert Moon Circle. In 2012, after five years serving as HPS, Caria Dawn passed the leadership torch but continued as an active third-degree priestess within the coven. In June of 2014, Lady Caria Dawn hived from Desert Moon Circle due to her relocation to Northern Virginia. With full blessing of her coven and former HPS, she founded a sister coven, Circle of the Moon Virginia. Desert Moon Circle in Arizona continues to thrive. In 2023 Caria Dawn moves again, not so far, remaining in Virginia, to the Winchester area and passes the torch of leadership to Ina Amara who is a well respected and talented Witch. The coven will assume an identifier, being referred to as Circle of the Moon DMV. In the autumn of 2023 Circle of the Moon Winchester will be created. Coven growth is a positive manifestation of perfect love and prefect trust, we look forward to continuing our story.
Who We Are Today
Today, Circle of the Moon DMV is a brilliant group of Witches who are compassionate, empathetic, kind and generous. We are a diverse group (ages, gender, birthplace, race, etc.) of hard-working professionals whose passions lie in improving ourselves through Witchcraft and our relationships with the Old Ones. We are talented artists, podcasters, vloggers, astrologers, card readers, psychics, weavers, musicians, photographers, and writers who hone our skills while striving to make the world a better place. We share resources, lift each other up, and are constantly making magick. We are a coven that genuinely enjoys each other's company and support each other through life.
The coven is currently 16 strong with half of the members having completed second-degree Witchcraft, raising families, and/or providing resources to the metaphysical community through professional services. We live on all four compass points of the DMV, coming together as a coven at least once monthly.
